We’re thrilled to share that earlier this month, the Erlang Ecosystem Foundation (EEF) officially closed its 2025 Board Election - and our very own Principal Platform Engineer, Zach Daniel, has been elected as one of three new board members in cohort C, alongside Lars Wikman and Lee Barney!
The EEF is a not-for-profit organisation driven by a global community of over 1,000 members, including some of the most respected voices in the industry. The foundation is dedicated to furthering the state of the art for Erlang, Elixir, Gleam, and other technologies that run on the BEAM virtual machine. Through working groups, community initiatives, and a strong commitment to open collaboration, the EEF plays a vital role in shaping the future of the BEAM ecosystem.
Zach’s election to the board is a testament to his ongoing contributions to the community. He brings years of hands-on experience building resilient, scalable systems in Elixir and Ash, along with a passion for driving technical excellence, community-building and mentorship. His work reflects the values and vision that the EEF embodies, especially when it comes to supporting open source innovation and sustainable growth in the ecosystem.
We’re incredibly proud to see Zach step into this leadership role and contribute to the foundation’s mission at an even deeper level. His election strengthens the broader BEAM community and opens new doors for collaboration, learning, and impact.
Congratulations to Zach and all newly elected board members! We are excited to see what’s ahead for the EEF in 2025.
